In Loving Memory of Elizabeth Nicholson
August 12, 1954 – December 13, 2025
Elizabeth Nicholson lived a full, generous, and meaningful life. She was a woman of strength, warmth, and quiet determination—someone who showed up for the people she loved and left a lasting mark through her care, her values, and her unwavering presence. She had a lust for life and an enduring optimism that followed her daily and rubbed off on those around her.
She was deeply devoted to her family and took pride in being a mother, a guiding force, and a constant source of support. Her love was practical and fierce. She gave without keeping score. She listened. She protected. She believed in doing the right thing, even when it wasn’t easy.
Elizabeth had a way of making people feel seen and grounded. She valued honesty, kindness, and resilience, and she lived those principles every day. Her laughter, her advice, and her steady hand will be missed more than words can capture.
This space exists to honor her life—not just her passing. To remember the moments she created, the lessons she passed on, and the love she gave so freely. Her legacy lives on through the people she shaped and the lives she touched.
She will always be remembered.
She will always be loved.
A Memory from Nana
I remember the day Lorne was born. I went to the hospital to see how Liz was doing and to meet my first grandchild. When I arrived at the maternity ward, I could hear some lusty hollering and crying. The nurse said, “She’s very vocal!” That she was.
Soon there was another sound — the cry of a newborn — Lorne. It was a joyous day for all concerned, including my son Stephen, his father.
They had a few good years together, but my son unfortunately became hooked on drugs and the relationship ended. However, Lorne and Liz continued to be part of my life, and we shared many good times.
I had a wonderful time with Lorne. He was an easygoing child, interested in everything, and it was a pleasure to take him places and have fun together.
Liz has been a presence in my life ever since, and I shall miss her deeply. She visited me a few months ago at the retirement home where I now reside. Her friend Alexis brought her new baby, and we had a lovely visit. Liz adored that baby. I know Alexis will miss her too.
Goodbye, Liz.
I’m grateful we had that last visit.

A memory from the Gabriele sisters
Liz was our stepmom during some of our most formative years, when we were just little girls, around ages 6 to 12. She loved her son Lorne more than anything in the world, and at the same time, she opened her heart to us and was genuinely excited to be a stepmom to two young daughters.
She found such sweet ways to include us in her life, buying us matching aerobics outfits so we could move, laugh, and share in her love of health and fitness together. Our home was filled with imagination because of her treasure chest of dress-up clothes and heels, and she always encouraged us to play, explore, and feel special.
Liz was truly beautiful, inside and out. Amanda and I will always hold close the love, care, and safety she gave us during a time in our lives when we needed it more than we knew. Her kindness left a lasting mark on our hearts.
